Book giveaway time! UPDATE: The contest is over, Deborah Cartwright's name was drawn as the winner Congrats Deborah! If I don't hear from her with a shipping address by March 1 I'll choose another winner. Deborah, email me at mickiemueller@yahoo.com
Post in the comments and tell me "What is your favorite book of shadows from fiction, TV, movie, books, video games, etc."
I'll randomly choose a winner on Monday January 30.

Great News!

I just got a package in the mail with two illustrator copies of my newly published illustration job The Witch's Book of Shadows!!!  Should I celebrate with a giveaway? Of course I should!  A copy of "The Witch's Book of Shadows, The Craft, Lore, and Magick of the Witch's Grimoire," by Jason Mankey and illustrated by yours truly! I'm including a 5x7 print of the chapter opener, signed and personalized just for you. You can frame it or add it to your own Book of Shadows!
This is the front of the book opened up to the two page spread of the magical bookstore. All the books in this series have a shop, I imagine the shops all exist on a magical street somewhere, want to shop there with me?

A book about books, what more could any well-read witch want?!
This book is the latest in the popular The Witch's Tools Series from Llewellyn, I've had the honor of doing the interior illustrations for all of them, and I wrote one, The Witch's Mirror!  ...see the little name there...Mueller....that's me! eeee!

I did lots of illustrations of book pages for The Witch's Book of Shadows and hand lettered them, it was a challenge,  and I used a very tiny pen!

If you don't win, you get get your own copy here Llewellyn, Amazon, Barnes & Noble

  1. My favorite Book of Shadows is the one in Practical Magic. It looks so ancient and full of knowledge from so many generations of Owens' women.

    1. BREAKUP REHAB ( AWESOME TRUE STORY )

I am Brian Donald and this is my testimony. In September 18th 2017, my girlfriend Maggie called it a quit to our 6 years relationship. it was pathetic, i tried to calm her down but she insisted on breakup because she has met another nice guy in Sydney. the pain was too-much for me to bear, so i went online to look for help then i saw a blog about this powerful spell caster from USA called Dr. Ugo Wonders. i read alot of testimonies about him but i was not too sure if he could help me because i was living in Australia but i decided to give him a try. i emailed him all about my relationship problem and my fear for distance, he assured me not to worry that distance is not a barrier and that the wind blows, so shall my help locate me in 24 hours.i trusted him by his words at once and followed his instructions. Immediately after 24 hours of casting the spell as he instructed me, my girlfriend who left me to be with another man came back home to me and started begging me forgiveness. i was shocked, surprised and amazed and i was like "wow" it worked like a magic. this is the reason i decided to share this my wonderful testimony with the whole world to contact this world classified spell caster called Dr. Ugo for any relationship or breakup issues via his email generalspelltemple@gmail.com or call his mobile number +13863369876 website: http://generalspelltempleblog.wordpress.com

  6. I adore the book of Shadows from Hocus Pocus! The way it interacted was so awesome! I have always believed that when you have something that you put so much of yourself into, then you form a bond of sorts with that thing. In a way, that BOS demonstrated that bond.

  35. I'd have to say that the Book of Shadows from Charmed has been my favorite. The artwork along with the penmanship on each page was just stunning. Not to mention that the Book itself was a character all it's own. I think that just makes it one of the best all around.

  40. I will say Professor JRR Tolkien's Silmarillion, which includes the Ainulindalë, Valaquenta and the Lay of Leithian (story of Beren and Luthien - beautiful!). Some may say the Red Book of Westmarch hehehe! Anyway, we call the Silmarillion the "Parma Nolë" which means the Book of Deep Knowledge/Lore :-) https://openaccess.leidenuniv.nl/bitstream/handle/1887/29078/summary.pdf - And? 45. For me it's Mary's Book of Shadows from the Salem TV series (2014). I tried to start my own Book of Shadows too but according to my own pattern, different from the movie, written by black ink and blood. Need some more information about how to continue.

  48. Practical Magic's BOS, with its hidden book within a book, OR "BOOOOOK!" from Hocus Pocus, I mean who wouldn't want a book that helps you out a little? BTW I have that as the alarm for my kids' reading time ;)

    ReplyDelete
  49. My favorite BOS is probably the one from Practical Magic! While somewhat rooted in reality, it still has that old-world charm and otherworldliness to it, even if we don't get to see it in full! A BOS with Midnight Margaritas can't be bad, right?

The other one I like would be the book from Hocus Pocus! It's creepy but cute all at the same time.

  50. My first favorite was from the Sabrina the Teenage Witch movie and then show. As a kid, I remember trying to make my own. I spend hours decorating the covers of little stapled together homemade books so I could be a witch. I still have to draw and color on the cover of my book of shadows that I own today. Lol

  61. It's been fun reading everyone's favorites, saw a couple I'd never heard of before. I know I've seen BOS in a couple of anime series that I have watched but I've got a case of Fibro Fog and can't think of them. Although the on in Practical Magic is a favorite of mine with the three fold style. But screw the book and give me that herb room! Am I right?? Ha ha just kidding, mostly ;)

  66. My heart was filled with remorse and pain for the past 7 months when my husband ended our marriage and went to his EX lover because i was unable to give him a son. I was so devastated and almost committed suicide. I asked everyone i knew for help but all my efforts were useless not until i was refereed to Doctor Casera by Oliver who i met online that he could be of help to me for he has helped her before. I got in touch with him and i poured out everything i had in mind to him and he promised to make me smile and make me live a better life by getting my husband back with his powers between just 24 hours. I believed in him and to my very eyes, my husband came on his knees pleading for forgiveness to come back and rectify his mistakes and today we are living with so much Joy and happiness. If anyone out there needs help of any-kind, get in touch with the Doctor now for he will help you out.
